Monday, April 9, 2018, was the official Cooperative Lineworker Appreciation Day!  We pay tribute to linemen and women across this country that serve their members, maintaining and restoring power 24/7 365 days a year in all kinds of weather. More than 15,000 electric cooperative lineworkers serve on the front lines of our nation's energy needs, maintaining 42% of this countries electric distribution lines. Lineworkers perform complex work, often in dangerous conditions, to ensure we receive the safe reliable power we depend on.

Cooperative Employees Make Donation to Pana Food Pantry

"Around this time each year employees of the cooperative participate in a food drive. Area food pantry names were put in a hat to see who would receive this year's donation and Loaves & Fishes name was drawn out," said cooperative employee Heidi Hall.

Volunteers from the United In Faith Church in Pana were on hand for the picture.

Coloring Contest Donates Book and DVD to Three Libraries

To promote our 2017 Coloring Contest, “Thank a Lineman,” Shelby Electric Cooperative reached out to local libraries for help. Taking advantage of summer reading programs, 12 libraries passed out flyers and coloring pages on behalf of Shelby Electric.

To thank the libraries for their support, we donated a book and DVD to the three libraries with the most coloring contest entries submitted from their area.
