Co-op Employees Donate to Angel of Love

Megan Miller, coordinator of the Angel of Love program, recently stopped by to pick up the cooperative employee's donation of $500 as well as a few gifts that were already turned back in. Jill George (pictured on the right) was on hand to present the money on behalf of the cooperative employees. Megan appreciates all the businesses who not only put out a gift tag tree but also make financial donations to the annual Christmas program.

"We are going to be able to provide gifts and hygiene items to 66 families this year," said Miller. "There will be gifts under the tree for 162 kids this year so we are very appreciative of the surrounding communities and their generosity," continued Miller.

Miller wanted to remind those who currently have gift tags to make sure they get their gifts back to the location they picked the tag up by noon on December 1st.

"There will be a gift wrap party at the Cowden Christian Church on December 6 at 6pm. Everyone is invited to come help out," noted Miller.

Anyone wanting to help with the deliveries on Saturday December 12, just come out to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville at 9am. "These deliveries usually take less than two hours and is a great thing to do as a family and we appreciate all those who volunteer. Especially, all those from the cooperative who come out every year," added Miller.

Anyone wishing to donate to the Angel of Love program, there is still time. Just bring any donation to a Community Banks of Shelby County and just note the Angel of Love account.
