Illinois electric cooperatives are offering 17 scholarships to students in the electric cooperative family. The 17 scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded in 2025 through the Thomas H. Moore Illinois Electric Cooperatives (IEC) Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Ten scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who are the sons or daughters on an Illinois electric co-op member who plans to enroll full-time at a 2-year or a 4-year college, university, or vocational/technical school.
Five are dedicated to students enrolling full-time at a 2-year Illinois community college, who are also children of an electric cooperative member in Illinois.
The Earl W. Struck Scholarship is reserved for a student whose parent is an Illinois electric cooperative employee or director.
The seventeenth scholarship, the LaVern and Nola Memorial Lineworker's Scholarship, is designed for those ready to light up the world by pursuing a career in linework and are enrolled or plan to enroll at Lincoln Land Community College's lineworker program.
Deadline to apply for the IEC Memorial Scholarships is Dec. 31, 2024. The LaVern and Nola Memorial Lineworker's Scholarship deadline is April 30, 2025.
