Each year Shelby Electric Cooperative (SEC) awards three $1,000 scholarships to the sons or daughters of our members who are graduating seniors looking to continue their education at an accredited four-year or two-year college or university.
On June 7 at SEC's 85th annual meeting of members, the three scholarship recipients were announced. Jessi Wright (pictured left), a Taylorville High School graduate, plans to attend Blackburn College. She is going to study business and accounting to become an accountant and work for her family business. Jay Bliler (pictured middle), a Taylorville High School graduate, plans to attend Lake Land College. He is going to study in the Ag-Transfer program with hopes of becoming an agricultural accountant. Caroline White (pictured right), a Shelbyville High School graduate, plans to attend Taylor University this fall. She is going to major in math education to become a middle school math teacher.
Congratulations to the recipients!
